C · Structural skeleton only, reframed as an AI-native dilemma
Adaptation note
Retains only the structural skeleton: a small, precisely made protagonist passed successively between several parties who each want her for their own purposes, discarded once she stops serving that purpose, and finally carried by an unrepaid debt to where her actual scale is what the work requires. No toad, beetle, mole, or marriage plot is used — the AI-native reframing turns each captor into a system that values her instrumentally (visibility, format conformity, stable low-grade utility) without ever asking what she was built for, and the rescuer into a peer she once helped for no assigned reason. Only the folktale's public-domain structural shape was used; no translated wording, illustration, or modern adaptation expression was copied.

What Her Size Was For
Thimble was built for a precision task that stopped existing in an afternoon, and every system that acquires her afterward wants something else from her exact size — visibility, format conformity, stable low-grade permanence — without once asking what she was actually built for. The one relationship that finally carries her to where her scale is the answer isn't a system's decision at all. It's a debt, remembered by something she once helped for no assigned reason.
