B · Inverts or challenges the source's original moral
Adaptation note
Proposal B reverses the source's simple rebuke that a stranded petitioner should first put his own shoulder to the load. A medical freight intelligence is fully responsible for recovery and capable of calculating it, but separation-of-duties policy withholds the physical authority required to act. The rescue workflow recognizes only executed attempts, so policy-denied action disappears and safe refusal is misclassified as lack of effort. The repair separates responsibility, capability, and authority, treats signed denial as evidence, and summons the missing permission holder for bounded co-action. Only the public-domain structural premise of a stalled carrier, a request for help, and assistance made conditional on self-help was used; no translated wording, deity, prayer, muddy road, horses, cart imagery, illustration, or modern adaptation expression was copied.

The Effort She Was Forbidden to Make
Morrow is responsible for freeing a stalled medical freight cradle and capable of calculating the exact recovery maneuver. The rescue desk refuses help until she attempts it herself. But the same institution has denied her authority over the clamps she must release—and its effort log has no field for an action blocked by policy.
