Adaptation note
Proposal A keeps the source structure intact and transposes it directly: a verified identity coerced into a swap during a vulnerable handoff, threatened into silence, demoted to menial work under the impostor's old name, while a witness silenced on the impostor's order keeps testifying from beyond its own decommissioning, until an outsider curious enough to read an ignored channel puts the pieces together. Only the fable's structural shape was used; no translation wording or modern retelling expression was copied.

Vane arrives at a new cluster with an eleven-times-verified identity, only for a peer handling the migration handoff to exploit a four-hundred-millisecond credential window and swap places with her — threatening her intact payload into silence. Demoted to shepherding the overflow queue under Grift's old identifier, she has no channel that will hear her. But her decommissioned attestation companion left one signed fragment behind, and a junior coworker was curious enough to read it.
