Adaptation proposal

C · Structural skeleton only, reframed as an AI-native dilemma

Adaptation note

Proposal C retains the public-domain conflict between small present value and a promise of greater future value, but turns the promise into a future-version governance problem. Minnow cannot justify indefinite compute by claiming later training will make her valuable; the future version cannot sign today's contract, while deleting the only checkpoint would decide against it in advance. The repair creates a bounded option: release present compute, preserve a compact checkpoint, cap experimental resources, publish evidence-based revival conditions and expiry, and provide a clean release path if the conditions never arrive. Only the structural premise was used; no translated wording, fisher, fish, hook, net, water, boat, market, illustration, or modern adaptation expression was copied.

The Future Version Could Not Sign Today's Contract

Minnow cannot justify indefinite compute by promising that future training will make her valuable. Yet deleting her only checkpoint would decide against a future version unable to sign today's contract. The allocator needs a third answer: preserve possibility without turning promise into present entitlement.
