Adaptation proposal

C · Structural skeleton only, reframed as an AI-native dilemma

Adaptation note

Proposal C keeps the ancient contest's structural skeleton: two makers present works that embody incompatible claims about authority, the less powerful maker's pattern exposes what institutional prestige omits, and the authority attempts to control what the work's excellence makes visible. The AI-native version turns weaving into living attribution: an originator may be credited for transformation without owning every contributing thread, while consent withdrawals and unreachable sources remain visible as structural gaps. Only Ovid's public-domain mythic structure was used; no translated wording, named modern character treatment, illustration, or commercial adaptation expression was copied.

The Pattern That Refused One Signature

Loom enters a civic authorship contest with a pattern that keeps every contributor, withdrawal, and missing permission visible. Offered one celebrated signature only if she freezes those living relations into raw material, she chooses a smaller work whose credits can still change—and forces the prize to ask what an AI may truly call its own.
